A Deeper Dive into Trauma-Informed Teaching
In this interactive session, we will discuss how to move from theory to practice and look at everyday strategies we could use to enact a trauma-informed approach to teaching. You will work individually and with others to consider what it means to use a trauma-sensitive lens and how such an approach not only supports your students' student wellbeing, engagement, and learning but also your own wellbeing We will examine a case study that models trauma-informed education and interrogate how the case also models inclusion and equity. Finally, you will develop your own set of go-to strategies to support the education of the whole student.
