2022 E.C. Moore

E.C. Moore Symposium on Excellence in Teaching

The E.C. Moore Symposium on Excellence in Teaching brings together stakeholders in the higher education community across Indiana to examine teaching excellence and innovative pedagogies that encourage student learning.

The 2022 E.C. Moore Symposium was held in a virtual format on Friday, March 4, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. via Zoom.

The symposium was open to all faculty and instructional staff, regardless of appointment type, institution, or organization. Professional staff who provide support for the teaching and learning mission of the campuses (e.g., instructional designers, IT professionals) are also welcome to attend.

The 2022 symposium is sponsored by the IUPUI Center for Teaching and Learning, LEAP Indiana, IUSM Faculty Affairs | Professional Development | Diversity (FAPDD), and Faculty Academy on Excellence in Teaching (FACET).

Keynote and Deeper-Dive Workshop

Our keynote speaker was Dr. Mays Imad from Pima Community College and her address was on the topic of trauma-informed pedagogy and pedagogy of care. Visit the keynote page to read more about Dr. Imad and the keynote topic.

Dr. Imad also offered a virtual follow-up workshop on the topic where attendees had the opportunity to engage deeply through a case-study analysis, individual reflections, and small-group discussions and leave with actionable strategies to use in their teaching contexts.
